LS PLANT BREEDING LTD (LSPB) HAVE BECOME A KEY SUPPORTER OF THE COUNTRY FOOD TRUST (CFT)

LS Plant Breeding Ltd (LSPB) have become a key supporter of the Country Food Trust (CFT), a charity who raise funds to provide meals to feed people in need. Their meals are produced by a specialist food manufacturer and are game based, high in protein, low in fat.

Chris Guest, managing director of LSPB, explains that the charity is funded by individuals, companies, shoots, trusts and other charitable organisations. “As they say, for a shockingly large number of people in our country, having enough food is not an everyday reality and having a nutritious meal is a rarity – the meals are given free to those people living in poverty.

“The Country Food Trust was set up in the belief that everyone, regardless of his or her economic circumstances, should have access to a balanced and nutritious diet, and we are pleased to become a corporate supporter.”

There are currently three products: The Country Casserole – a nutritious and warming pheasant casserole, The Country Curry – a mildly spicy pheasant curry and The Country Bolognese – a rich and tasty venison ragu.

The recipes for these have been devised by the charity’s Consultant Chef Tim Maddams, who has worked tirelessly for the Charity, and has devised recipes that are both tasty and nutritious and do not contain additives.

All are supplied in single, ready to use retort pouches that do not need to be refrigerated and have a one-year shelf life, or In catering packs to those charities who feed a large number of people at any one time.

The CFT also buys large quantities of frozen meat directly from reputable game dealers and donates it to those charities who have the relevant storage and cooking facilities

Chris Guest adds, “The CFT is always keen to welcome new supporters to help them to achieve their aim of supplying meals to as many of the 8.4 million people in food poverty in the UK. Every pound received helps to feed more people in need, and LSPB is pleased to join in the effort.”
