NPZ UK combining pea varieties continue to offer pulse growers a wide choice to meet their yield, agronomic and end user marketing needs.
For green peas, Pangea combines very high yield with high resistance to Powdery mildew, high Downy mildew resistance and is resistant to Pea wilt. Carrington is a high yielding green variety with very high Downy mildew resistance; Butterfly is high yielding with early maturity; Bluetime is high yielding combined with a high Downy mildew resistance. All three have good standing power. These are now joined by Bullet, a new high yielding variety.
The yellow pea category features two high yielding NPZ UK varieties - Concerto - with high resistance to Downy mildew - plus Orchestra with early maturity.
For Marrowfats three NPZ UK varieties - very high yielding Midori plus high yielding Akooma and Takayama - are now joined by newcomer top yielding Yoshi to give a comprehensive choice to growers in this market segment.
Looking to the future, we have a range of promising combining pea varieties in the pipeline to do our part in developing the UK pulse crop in the future.
