The 2025 PGRO Descriptive Lists for field beans show that LSPB varieties continue to offer pulse growers a wide choice to meet their yield, agronomic and marketing objectives.

Newly listed Ketu is a very high yielding LVC (low vicine/convicine) bean on the PGRO DL closely followed by Genius and consistently high yielding Lynx plus Futura (LVC) and newly listed Loki.

For the future, we have promising Candidates in the pipeline – including new winter beans as well as spring beans to do our part in developing the future UK pulse crop.

Genius

Genius is a high yielding spring bean on the PGRO Descriptive List for 2025. It has high seed yield and offers growers a large sized bean plus excellent agronomic characters including high standing ability at harvest and good resistance to Downy mildew.

Lynx

Lynx is a consistently very high yielding variety on the PGRO Descriptive List with high Downy mildew resistance and high standing power.

Futura LVC

Futura LVC is a high-yielding spring bean on the PGRO Descriptive List for 2025 with low vicine and convicine content (LVC) that will help to further develop the UK pulse market with end users.
